The Surgical Technologist II ensures that surgical teams have the necessary instruments and support for optimal patient outcomes. They establish and maintain a sterile field, communicate effectively with the surgical team, and participate in surgical counts and educational activities.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete an accredited surgical technologist training program. Certification in Surgical Technology is required, along with knowledge of instrumentation and the ability to provide age-appropriate care.
Knowledge of instrumentations. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
