Prepares high-quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination and performs various histological tests and stains. Ensures the laboratory operates in compliance with CLIA standards and quality assurance protocols.
Requires an Associate Degree in Science and a Florida or Compact State Clinical Lab Technologist license. Candidates must possess knowledge of CLIA regulations and strong time management skills to process slides efficiently.
Under general supervision following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, prepares high quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination and performs a wide variety of standard and non-standard histological tests and stains and a limited number of new, modified, or special tests and examinations.
Associated Degree - Science License/Registrations - Issued by Florida or Compact State Clinical Lab Technologist Work Experience and
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Prepare and keep laboratory up to CLIA Standards. · Knowledge of CLIA regulations regarding proficiency testing, quality assurance and quality control. · Knowledge of medical terminology. · Time Management Skills: able to process slides in a timely manner for surgeon/pathologist while patient is waiting.
