Provides professional nursing care within the Heart Cath Lab and coordinates care planning with interdisciplinary team members. Responsible for implementing care plans, evaluating outcomes, and supervising support staff such as LPNs and nursing assistants.
Requires a valid Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license and CPR certification. The role is suitable for a new graduate, as it is classified as a level I clinical nurse position.

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Completes nursing history and initiates patient education. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members. Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis. Evaluates care outcomes. Problem solves and coordinates unit/patient care assignments, with supervision. Introduces new employees/students to unit routines. Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills (checklist) to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) Year experience). Licensure Requirement: Valid Tennessee RN license. CPR required.
