The incumbent provides patient care within the scope of practice and medical center policies while performing unit secretary duties. They must function competently and independently to meet annual performance expectations.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and maintain active Nurse Aide I or II listing with the NC Division of Facility Services. Basic computer skills and BCLS certification are required, with additional crisis intervention training needed for specific departments.
Summary of Performance Expectations. Provides care within scope of practice and medical center policies and procedures, appropriate to the age of the patients served, incorporating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span. Required to work and function competently and independently in both NA and Unit Secretary role in order to meet annual evaluation performance expectations.
Knowledge of medical terminology. Formal training in basic computer applications. Ability to type proficiently.
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date.
