Assessments

complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.

Planning

develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.

Implementation

provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.

Evaluation

• participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Leadership/professional development: delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person/role model/mentor and pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications. Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies, requirements, certifications and/or licensure.
• Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
• Physical
• Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
