The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose ocular conditions, and manage acute and chronic eye diseases. They will also prescribe medications and visual aids while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and be eligible for licensure in Minnesota. Board eligibility or certification in Optometry is required, along with the ability to provide care across all age groups.
0.5 FTE, 40 hours Bi-Weekly Part Time, Direct Hire Work Schedule: Monday through Friday between 0800-1630
The Optometrist will provide high-quality, patient-centered vision care in a clinical environment. This role involves performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing ocular conditions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
This position is a direct care provider and requires the ability to give adequate care to patients/residents in the following age groups:
Infant (Birth to 1 Year)
Child (2-12)
Adolescent (13-17)
Adult (18-65) Geriatric (65 and over)
Work activities that require lifting of objects up to 10 – 20 lbs. on rare to occasional basis. Sedentary work generally involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Roles are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
A fast-paced clinical environment with multi-tasking, prioritizing, and frequent interruptions. Continuous interpersonal communication is required with patients, surgeons, managers, staff, volunteers, and the general public.
Work schedule for the clinic is generally Monday through Friday 0800-1630.
