The RN will provide direct perioperative patient care, including surgical site preparation, medication administration, and monitoring of patient status. They are also responsible for maintaining operating room supplies, documenting nursing care, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety.
Candidates must be a licensed RN in Washington state and a graduate of an accredited nursing school. Required certifications include AHA BLS, with ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.

General Direct Patient Care Assesses patients’ conditions before surgery, and at intervals as stated in policies and procedures. Develops an individualized perioperative patient plan of care. Protects the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources. Performs accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items. Performs interventions necessary to ensure that the patient’s procedure is performed on the correct site, side, and level. Manages the patient’s specimens according to organizational policy and procedures. Communicates the patients’ current status to relevant parties throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications safely and correctly. Performs interventions to maintain the patient’s wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels. Performs interventions to maintain the status of the patient’s genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances at or above baseline levels. Performs interventions to ensure the patient is at or returned to normothermia at the conclusion of the immediate postoperative period. Performs interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infection. Delegates tasks according to the state Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions. Ensures that the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment. Communication and Coordination Assesses the knowledge level of the patient or designated support person. Protects the patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy. Provides age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal guidelines. Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes. Transfers care as applicable. Acts as a patient advocate and maintains privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information. Communicates with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care. Patient Documentation Reviews charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure. Documents nursing care accurately, completely, and legibly. Compliance and Growth Adheres to all relevant health and safety standards. Collaborates effectively with other disciplines as applicable. Participates in the performance appraisal process. Participates in quality review and performance improvement projects. Uses problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members. Maintains required competencies. Pursues professional growth and participates in a professional organization. Qualifications Required Licensed as an RN in the state of Washington Graduate from an accredited school of nursing AHA BLS current upon hire and maintained while employed AHA ACLS within six months of hire and maintained while employed AHA PALS within six months of hire and maintained while employed Preferred One or more years of Operating Room nursing experience Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Basic computer skills CNOR completion within 2 years of hire If you are looking for a rewarding career with a great team, you'll enjoy your career with us !
