The Surgical Technologist provides patient care under the supervision of physicians and nurses while managing surgical instruments and equipment. They are responsible for maintaining sterile techniques and ensuring all supplies are prepared for surgical procedures.
Candidates must have completed a vocational or technical school program and hold a Certified Scrub Tech certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required for this position.
The Surgical Technologist provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse. The Surgical Technologist demonstrates responsibility and accountibility in selecting, assembling, testing and operating equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures. The Surgical Technologist is respsonible and accountable in performing as a primary scrub person handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure while applying principles of sterile technique. The Surgical Technologist contributes to expected patient outcomes in accordance with policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.
