The pharmacy intern will prepare and label pharmacy products while assisting with inventory management and billing documentation. They will also provide information to healthcare professionals and support patient care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma and be actively enrolled in a College of Pharmacy. An active Ohio Pharmacy Intern License is required for this position.
Summary: Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs any or all of the functions of the department as assigned according to established procedure. Based on ability, experience, and performance, performs the increasingly judgmental activities of a pharmacist pursuant to State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Under supervision, gains the practical experience necessary to function competently and effectively upon licensure.
High School Diploma. - Must be actively enrolled in a College of Pharmacy. - Must have active Ohio Pharmacy Intern License. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Must be actively pursuing licensure as a Registered Pharmacist through completion of academic and/or post-graduate Experience requirements. Registration with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern. Responsibilities And Duties: 25% Obtain, prepare, and label pharmacy products according to department policy for final distribution. 15% Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, review and interpret orders for pharmacy products needed for patient care, perform any necessary interventions, and process according to department policy and procedure. 15% Produce billing, monitoring, and usage documentation of pharmacy products for proper billing and inventory purposes. 5% Maintain sufficient inventory of pharmacy products to enable efficient distribution. 10% Provide information via phone/in person to other healthcare professionals and/or customers. 5% Submit medication charge data to assure proper reimbursement. 5% May assist in training technicians, externs and interns in technical aspects of duties. 5% Participate in special projects when necessary.
