Provide 24/7 in-house obstetric and gynecologic coverage, including managing labor, deliveries, and surgical procedures. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and be board eligible or board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. A minimum of 3 years of experience and the ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license in Iowa are required.
Provide 24/7 in-house obstetric and gynecologic coverage for Labor & Delivery and OB triage units Manage labor, delivery, postpartum care, and obstetric emergencies Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and OB/GYN surgical procedures as required Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, including shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive crises, and fetal distress Provide gynecologic care for emergency and inpatient consultations as needed Serve as a clinical resource and backup for community OB/GYN physicians and midwives Collaborate with anesthesiology, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care Supervise and support Midwives Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and review of OB metrics Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards Foster a culture of patient-centered, respectful, and evidence‑based care Participate in departmental meetings, drills, and continuing medical education activities Support initiatives related to risk management, peer review, and clinical best practices
MD or DO Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology Must have at least 3 years of experience Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice Eligible to work in the United States We offer Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, internal equity, and other business needs.
