Performs high-quality CT and X-ray imaging while ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation of medical records. Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare providers to verify orders and maintain efficient departmental workflows.
Requires an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology, current ARRT certification, and BLS certification. Candidates must have at least 2 years of radiology experience and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 50-75 lbs.
Performs excellent patient care for all CT scan and x-rays. Quickly and accurately completes all paperwork to include orders, lab work and authorization confirmation. Monitoring the safety of patients pertaining to radiation and contrast dose. Essential
Examines orders and verifies request on patients. Addresses any questionable orders to Radiologist before procedures. Operates CT equipment with proficiency. Operates Injector with proficiency Operate X-ray equipment with proficiency Paperwork/orders, email order request and authorization. Records medical history on designated history form. Correlates test results and other lab data with exam being performed Performs IVs, give patients oral contrast, do lab work if needed Monitor supplies/stock room Communicate with radiologist for protocols as needed Communicate with pacs/IT for imaging distribution if necessary
Education/Licensing/Certification: Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology ARRT BLS Experience (years and type): 2 years of Radiology experience Knowledge and Skills: Must be able to perform procedures in accordance to the CR departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT scanners, X-ray equipment, IV contrast injectors O2 tanks. Computer literate and knowledgeable of CR programs Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role Must be able to access all patient history to review any allergies that could interfere with the patient’s test Must be able to communicate with the Radiologist or referring MD if a protocol needs to be obtained or a test needs to be altered Must be able to report malfunctioning equipment to the Radiology engineer Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift the appropriate weight determined by CR (50-75 lbs.) Must have positive communication skills Performs basic patient care functions and informs the Radiologist or nurse of any change in the patient’s condition if needed Must be competent with IVs Travel Required (% of time): 0-25% Physical Requirements & Work Environment: Full day of walking and standing Lifting more than 50 lbs.
