The Resident Monitor/CDCA oversees residents in a sober living environment, providing crisis intervention and de-escalation support. They also conduct drug screenings, develop individual service plans, and facilitate treatment services to support client recovery.
Candidates must hold a valid Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) license and a valid Ohio driver's license. Two years of experience in the substance use field is preferred, along with strong skills in crisis intervention and clinical documentation.
Responsible for overseeing residents in a clinically managed low-intensity residential service setting, maintaining a therapeutic drug free environment following rules and regulations of F&CS and Ohio MHAS, and COA standards, crisis intervention, and consultation/reporting with/to supervisor(s). The position also requires the development of knowledge and skills in the areas of community support, discharge planning, substance use issues, and the field of community services to individuals with substance use disorders. The position requires the ability to respond appropriately to crisis or emergency situations, including at least basic training crisis intervention
Supervisor: Clinical Supervisor
Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant Licensure required. The CDCA is required to have the following skills: clinical interview methods; individual, and group therapy methods. Ability to develop and implement treatment plans. Skills in crisis intervention and emergency services. Specialized knowledge of the substance use field. The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. De-escalation skills. The ability to establish and maintain clinically effective relationships with clients. Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background check. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license in accordance with County policy and must maintain motor vehicle liability insurance, must maintain continuing eligibility under the existing County driver eligibility standards. Ability to function as part of an organization by working with others and by adhering to established policies and procedures. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Valid Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistance Licensure. Valid State of Ohio drivers license

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). The employee will occasionally be working near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and exposed to a risk of electrical shock while running the copier, printer, other standard equipment and answering the telephone. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Stress level can be high at times.
