The CRNA plans and administers anesthesia and related care to patients to facilitate various medical procedures. They also develop anesthetic plans, monitor patient responses, and ensure patient safety throughout the care process.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of professional nursing and an accredited nurse anesthesia program. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner-Nurse Anesthetist in Virginia, along with NBCRNA certification and AHA certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), are required.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
