MRI technologists perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures to acquire and analyze diagnostic data while ensuring patient safety and comfort. They are responsible for preparing and administering medications, documenting clinical history, and assisting practitioners with interventional procedures.
Candidates must hold a certification from ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT and have completed a radiologic technology training program. A minimum of one year of related work experience is preferred, and applicants must maintain Basic Life Support certification.
One of the following certifications is required upon hire: American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Certification Board (NMTCB) American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or primary ARRT-MR or NMTCB or ARMRIT prior to first day of employment. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months.
