The ED Crisis Clinician provides immediate crisis assessment, intervention, and short-term therapeutic support to patients in the Emergency Department. They also serve as a key resource to the interdisciplinary team by offering consultation on the psychosocial dimensions of patient care.
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related mental health field. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and a valid independent clinical license (LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LP) in Minnesota are required.

Our focus is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to meet the needs of our diverse patient population who are experiencing a mental health crisis, and other social support needs.
The ED Crisis Clinician is a licensed mental health professional who provides essential front-line support within the Emergency Department at Regions Hospital. Working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment, the clinician delivers immediate crisis assessment, intervention, and short-term therapeutic support to individuals and families experiencing mental health emergencies.
Core responsibilities include conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, formulating individualized intervention and referral plans, and determining appropriate levels of care. All services are delivered through a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered lens.
In addition to direct clinical care, the ED Crisis Clinician serves as a key resource to the interdisciplinary team, offering consultation on the psychosocial dimensions of patient care. This role is vital in fostering a collaborative, responsive, and compassionate care environment aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
