The Pediatric Emergency Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of clinical supervisors and emergency department providers. They are responsible for following established plans of care while maintaining a safe and focused environment.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma and a PCT certification, with at least one year of recent emergency department or EMS field experience. BLS certification is required, and successful completion of a state-approved EMT course is preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent. PCT Certification required. Successful completion of a state-approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course that meets or exceeds the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician is preferred. Successful completion of the cognitive and psycho-motor exam for the National Registry of EMTs at a Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic level. 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience as an emergency room technician or at least one year of experience as a primary EMS field provider or military equivalent. BLS certification required. De-escalation Training within six (6) months of hire. Skills Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations. Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety. Demonstrated communication, organization, and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of medical terminology.
