Implements physical therapy treatment plans and collaborates with the Registered Physical Therapist to measure client functional levels. Provides direct patient care, educates families on daily living activities, and documents intervention effectiveness.
Requires an Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program and at least one year of recent clinical experience. Must hold a current Maine Physical Therapy Assistant license and possess a reliable automobile with a valid driver's license.
Incredibly flexible Health Insurance plans Education Reimbursement Paid time off Opportunities for internal promotions What You’ll Do: Implements physical therapy services in accordance with plan of treatment developed by the PT and signed by the physician and planned, delegated and supervised by the RPT. Collaborates with the RPT in measuring the client’s functional level by applying appropriate tests and reporting results to PT. Implements client care plan activities based on treatment goals towards independent living for the client/family as directed by the Physical Therapist. Provides clear direction to clients during visits and communicates goals for the next visit. Observes & documents the effectiveness of the interventions on the physical therapy visit report & reports to PT. Confers with RPT for referrals to internal and external community resources to meet client outcomes when appropriate. Treats clients to relieve pain, develop and restore function and maintain maximum performance using appropriate physical therapy treatments, modalities and procedures as stated in the physical therapy plan of care. Teaches and supervises the client and family regarding alternative techniques to complete activities of daily living, proper transfers & positioning. Instructs and advises clients, family and other health team personnel including, when appropriate, home health aides, in certain phases of physical therapy in which they may assist the client; also instructs all of the above in the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices and durable medical equipment, if appropriate. Identifies team members and their roles in case management activity and works collaboratively with them. What You’ll Bring: Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree Program for Physical Therapy Assistants. A minimum of one-year recent clinical experience. Current license in the State of Maine as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Must have a reliable automobile with a current Maine driver’s license. Come see what we do with a ride-along or job shadow!
