The respiratory therapist is responsible for administering diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care procedures as prescribed by a physician. They must also monitor patient responses, initiate emergency procedures, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient outcomes.
Candidates must hold an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and possess a valid Florida or Compact State license. Additionally, 2 years of respiratory therapy experience and current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required.
Education Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Life Support (ACLS)- American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Life Support (PALS)- American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Work Experience 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
