The Medical Technologist performs routine and specialized laboratory testing on blood and body fluids while ensuring accurate results through quality control and instrument maintenance. They also support laboratory accreditation efforts, mentor new staff, and assist with regulatory survey preparation.
Candidates must have 2-4 years of experience in an acute care or clinical laboratory setting. A valid ASCP Medical Technologist certification or equivalent and applicable state licensure are required.
The Medical Technologist II performs routine and specialized moderate- to high-complexity laboratory testing on blood and body fluids with minimal supervision. This role ensures accurate and timely test results by adhering to quality control procedures, performing instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment or assay issues. The Medical Technologist II also supports laboratory accreditation efforts, mentors new staff and students, and contributes to departmental quality initiatives and regulatory readiness.
