The Certified Ophthalmic Technician performs ophthalmic patient care, diagnostic testing, and supportive services in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with surgeries, managing clinic supplies, and educating patients on eye health and diabetic screenings.
Candidates must have at least two years of recent experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician and hold a current certification from the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certified Ophthalmic Technicians are health professionals who perform ophthalmic patient care, technical and supportive services under general supervision in a medical office or clinical setting. The Certified Ophthalmic Technician supports the philosophy and complies with the protocols, policies and procedures of the Organization and the assigned Medical Office Department.
Ability to perform A-scans preferred. Certified Retinal Angiographer preferred.
This is a temporary position for approximately 6 months The primary assignment will be within Ophthalmology and Optometry, with the ability to work across departments as needed.
