The Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms, analyzing arrhythmias, and reporting findings to the nursing staff. They also assist in maintaining monitoring equipment and ensuring accurate documentation of patient telemetry data.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate strong leadership and critical thinking skills. Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia or Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation course is required within 45 days of hire.
The Telemetry Monitor Technician monitors the cardiac rhythm of the patients on telemetry monitors, analyzes and reports any arrhythmias to the staff nurse caring for the patient.
