The Surgical Technologist functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. They are responsible for adhering to clinical standards and supporting the philosophies of the medical center.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent, with at least two years of surgical tech experience. Certification requirements vary by state, and a BLS certification is required.

The Surgical Technician functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care, doing so as a delegated technical function under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The provision of care is consistent through adherence to standards and support of the philosophies of Genesis Medical Center.
