The Qualified Medication Aide is responsible for preparing and administering prescribed oral medications to residents while documenting the process accurately. They also perform vital sign checks and provide skilled nursing support under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Candidates must hold a valid Qualified Medication Aide certification in the State of Indiana and have completed a state-approved training program. Additionally, they must possess a current health certificate as required by state agencies.
Qualified Medication Aides are valuable members of our health care team who work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform skilled nursing care tasks as assigned according to plan of care.
Annual Wage Scale: $40,560-$59,280

Westridge Healthcare Center is seeking Qualified Medication Aide to- Prepare and administer safely and document regularly prescribed oral medications to residents. Administer as allowed, oral PRN drugs when authorized by a licensed nurse. Understand that injectable medications must always be given by a licensed nurse. Demonstrate knowledge that the telephone or verbal orders may never be accepted by a QMA. Understand and demonstrate knowledge that appropriate vital signs will be taken and recorded as required before administering certain medications.
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience: Must be certified as Qualified Medication Aide in the State of Indiana. Must complete a State approved training program in medication administration. Must possess a current health certificate/examination as required by State agencies. Must perform only those duties that were taught in the approved training program.
