We are actively seeking a Direct Care Associate to support adults living with serious mental illness in a structured residential setting. As a Direct Care Associate, you will provide hands-on support, supervision, and guidance to individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use needs. Working alongside the Program Supervisor and clinical team, you will help carry out individualized service plans, support daily routines, and contribute to a safe and recovery-focused environment.
This position supports the MH Regional Supervised Housing Program operated by the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board. The program is designed to reduce hospitalizations by offering a stable, supportive residential environment that promotes independence and personal choice.
Staff assist individuals with building daily living skills, engaging in treatment, and accessing community resources such as healthcare, financial benefits, and vocational or social opportunities. Services are tailored to each individual's goals, encouraging long-term recovery and community success.
In this role, your work directly supports individuals on their path to recovery and independence. You'll gain valuable experience in residential behavioral health while being part of a team committed to compassionate, person-centered care.
