The Private Duty Float Nurse provides high-quality, individualized nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients across various home or facility settings. They are responsible for performing skilled nursing tasks, documenting patient conditions, and maintaining compliance with agency standards and physician orders.
Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted LPN or RN license and possess at least one year of private duty or home health nursing experience. The role requires reliable transportation, current BLS certification, and the flexibility to travel between assigned locations.

Provide individualized private duty nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients in home or facility-based settings Float between assigned clients and locations based on operational needs Follow physician orders and individualized care plans Perform skilled nursing tasks such as medication administration, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, wound care, and assessments (as applicable to license and client needs) Accurately document patient care, observations, and changes in condition Communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams Maintain compliance with state regulations, agency policies, and safety standards Promote patient dignity, comfort, and independence Respond professionally to varying care environments and family dynamics
