The technologist manages all technical and clinical aspects of nuclear testing, including the safe acquisition and handling of radioactive materials. They also ensure quality control standards are met and maintain accurate departmental records in compliance with safety regulations.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved two-year Nuclear Medicine program and hold Florida State Licensure. Certification from the NMTCB or ARRT(N) and current BLS for Health Care Providers are required.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist manages all technical and clinical aspects of nuclear testing. The Technologist is responsible for the safe acquisition, distribution and disposal of Radioactive Material to perform testing and treatment of patients. Confers with the Radiologists when issues arise regarding the quality of nuclear images. Maintains accurate records of nuclear department to assure that all licensure requirements are fulfilled. Establishes and maintains all nuclear medicine quality control standards. Complies with all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and miscellaneous requirements contained in the Radiation Safety Program. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time, be flexible enough to twist, bend, lift, assist, transport patients via wheelchair & stretcher. Be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
