The Certified Nursing Assistant provides essential daily care to residents, including assistance with hygiene, mobility, and nutrition. They also monitor vital signs, document patient observations, and maintain a sanitary, supportive environment.
Candidates must hold a valid CNA license and have at least one year of experience in a nursing or long-term care setting. Strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team are required.
Description A Certified Nursing Assistant will provide essential care and support to residents, assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a nurturing attitude, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
Schedule: Part-time, Weekdays; Weekends, Day and Night Shifts, 8 Hour Shifts
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Help residents with mobility, transferring, and positioning to ensure their safety and comfort. Monitor residents’ vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff. Serve meals and assist residents with eating as needed, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring and supportive environment. Assist with implementing individualized care plans under the direction of licensed nursing staff. Maintain a clean and organized environment in resident room and common areas. Follow infection control procedures and maintain a sanitary environment to prevent the spread of illness. Respond to resident calls and requests promptly and courteously. Document care provided and observation accurately in residents’ medical records. Perform all other duties assigned.
Job Qualifications: CNA License required At least 1 year of experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant. CPR certification preferred. Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining resident confidentiality. Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor. Physical Requirements: Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to work directly with residents. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, twist, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, equipment, or controls. Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed. Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs. Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed. Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus. Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager. Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing. The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
