The physician provides specialized treatment for endocrine system disorders and medical direction for healthcare activities at the centers. Responsibilities include managing patient care, reviewing medical records, and serving as a preceptor for nurse practitioners.
Candidates must hold a medical degree from an accredited institution and have completed an approved residency program. They must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in their specialty.
Under the direct supervision of the Medical Director, the physician is responsible for the provision of specialized treatment in disorders that affect the endocrine system. This system includes multiple glands throughout the body that can cause problems with reproduction, growth, bone health or metabolism. Some endocrinologists specialize in specific areas of the endocrine system; assessing symptoms and running tests, as well as developing long-term treatment plans.

Speaking: Must be
able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.
Vision: Visual acuity
adequately to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and
computer screens.
Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10
pounds unassisted in normal daily activities and up to 30 lbs. for other required work
activities. Additionally, requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
(especially if keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting,
pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
