Provide essential technical and multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Assist patients with activities of daily living and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a certified PCA, PCT, CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, or phlebotomy program. Six months of direct patient care experience is preferred.
Eligibility for benefits may vary by location and is determined by employment status Job Summary The Patient Care Associate (PCA) is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The PCA is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and PCA skills and abilities. The PCA will report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse.
