Job Requirements Education Associate's of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required. Bachelor's of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care preferred. Experience 3-6 months of on-the-job experience to gain knowledge of hospital policies, procedures and routines required. License/Certifications Certified Respiratory Therapist (C.R.T.) with the National Board of Respiratory Care required at time of hire or Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) with the National Board of Respiratory Care within 12 months of accepting the Advanced Practitioner position required. Licensed by the State of Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP.IA) required. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required. Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) Certification required within 6 months of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required within 6 months of hire. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Requires a high degree of ability and skill in written and verbal communication to accurately relay appropriate and high quality recommendations to other members of the patient care team. Physical Requirements Weight Demands Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
