Provide expert intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring for spinal, vascular, brachial plexus, and cranial surgeries. Perform various evoked potentials and electromyography to ensure patient safety during surgical procedures.
Requires a current CNIM certificate from ABRET, BLS certification, and a minimum of three years of experience as an IONM Technologist. A bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
Your Role on the Team
Incumbent provides expertise required to monitor Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) cases in the operating room which may include but not limited to; spinal, vascular, brachial plexus and cranial surgeries. May require but not limited to; Somatosensory evoked potentials, Transcranial motor evoked potentials, Auditory evoked potential, Functional cortical mapping, Cranial nerve electromyography, Lateral spread, Limb Electromyography and D-waves.
What It Takes to be Successful
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must possess current CNIM Certificate from ABRET Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Must be willing to travel between locations within the health system as needed. Minimum three (3) years experience as an IONM Tech Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Current BLS certification required by time of hire Advanced knowledge of EP and IOM acquisition and artifact detection/elimination Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Previous experience working in the UC Irvine Medical Center operating room Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms IOM experience with Craniotomy cases Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field
