In this role, you will support complex and urgent cases in various veterinary specialties, helping to stabilize critical patients and ensure seamless patient care. You will also perform advanced monitoring and support intensive care treatment plans.
Candidates must be licensed or credentialed veterinary technicians with a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in emergency and critical care settings. Strong clinical and communication skills, along with experience in intensive monitoring and emergency triage, are essential.

Our exceptional team of licensed veterinary technicians are the heart of VERG. With our Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) team they play a vital role in delivering life-saving care. They support our board-certified Criticalists, emergency clinicians, and specialists across all departments.

In this dynamic role, you’ll be on the front lines of veterinary medicine, supporting complex and urgent cases in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Radiology, and Neurology. You’ll help stabilize critical patients, perform advanced monitoring, support intensive care treatment plans, and ensure seamless patient care.
This role offers the flexibility of a 3-day workweek, with shifts available from 8a–8p, 10a–10p, 12p–12a, or 2p–2a. This schedule supports comprehensive emergency coverage while providing our dedicated team with a four-day break each week.
Our ideal candidates are detail-oriented, quick-thinking, and possess strong clinical & communication skills. We’re especially interested in individuals with experience in intensive monitoring, emergency triage, ventilator support, post-op recovery of critical patients, and placing advanced lines (e.g., central venous catheters, arterial lines for invasive blood pressure, and CVPs). You should feel confident adapting to evolving patient needs, collaborating with multiple services, and educating intern doctors and peers on ECC protocols and best practices.
