The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for preparing equipment and assisting physicians with procedures such as biopsies and polypectomies. They must anticipate the needs of the medical team and ensure proper patient positioning and preparation.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must obtain Endoscopy Technician Certification within 90 days of hire and hold a current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Summary The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for planning and preparing equipment, assisting in preparation and positioning of patients, and assisting physicians with biopsy, counter traction, polypectomy, and other therapies as required. The Endoscopy Technician demonstrates an advanced knowledge of Endoscopy procedures by anticipating needs and preparing equipment in advance. This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. This position reports to the Manager, Endoscopy and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
