The therapist provides respiratory care by assessing patients, implementing and evaluating care plans, administering medications, and educating patients and families. They also participate in activities to improve healthcare delivery and provide clinical leadership.
Candidates must have a current state license and recent clinical respiratory care experience. Preferred qualifications include one year of hospital experience and various certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Provides respiratory care using critical thinking skills learned and refined through education and experience as a Respiratory Therapist. A Certified Respiratory Therapist demonstrates these skills by successfully completing examinations administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and earning the credential CRT. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Performs other job duties as assigned.
