Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients, including physical exams and fluid therapy management. Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery while maintaining sterile surgical techniques.
Requires a minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience and a Wisconsin Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license. Experience in anesthesia or surgery is preferred.
Full-time, daytime schedule Set days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday No weekend shifts On-call opportunties Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience Wisconsin Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) required Surgical or anesthesia experience preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and within a team Key Responsibilities: Provide nursing care to stable surgical patients in accordance with hospital standards Perform physical exams, including accurate assessment of TPR, mucous membranes, and capillary refill time Monitor patient status and promptly report abnormalities to the veterinarian Place peripheral IV catheters and manage fluid therapy Set up and troubleshoot IV fluid pumps Administer subcutaneous fluids and monitor for signs of fluid overload Assist with anesthesia, including induction, monitoring, and recovery Maintain sterile technique and assist with surgical preparation Perform venipuncture and sample collection Support post-operative patient care and client communication Core Skills & Experience: Anesthesia administration, monitoring, and recovery Surgical support and sterile technique Medical math, including CRI setup Venipuncture and catheter placement (IV, NG/NE) Recognition of abnormal heart/lung sounds and vital parameters Operation of anesthesia and IV fluid equipment Basic bandaging and post-op care Why Join BluePearl?
