The Certified Surgical Technologist performs scrub roles for operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the maintenance of a sterile field. Responsibilities include handling specimens, counts, medications, and instrument processing while participating in quality improvement activities.
Candidates must have a national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification and completion of a Surgical Technician program. BLS/CPR certification is required, and some levels require at least one year of experience or completion of a specific internship.
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures including establishing and maintaining a sterile field, specimen handling, counts, medications/solutions, implants and instrument processing and may assist with circulating duties, as well as, participate in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department. *We're always interested in connecting with talented professionals who are passionate about surgical opportunities.
