• Here’s What You Need · Associate degree in Cytology required · Bachelor’s degree in Cytology required · Other completion of training from an approved school of Cytotechnology · 3 years of Cytology experience highly preferred · 1 year of hospital specialty preferred · CT (ASCP) Cytotechnologist required upon hire · CT (IAC) Cytotechnologist required upon hire · SCT (ASCP) Specialist in Cytotechnology required upon hire · Experience with FNA procedures is highly preferred · Candidates should have practical experience in cytology technical screening and specimen processing, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures. What You Will Do · Specimen Processing · Stain/Equipment maintenance · Assists in obtaining fine needle aspiration biopsies and preparing and staining slides for rapid assessment by the pathologist. · Maintains knowledge of computer software applications and uses computer applications competently as related to the specific task required for each assigned job responsibility.
