Provides clinical support and direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene, and documenting patient information.
Requires a High School Diploma and current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification or completion of the first year of a Nursing program. Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/PCT) - SRNA Certification Certified Nursing Assistant - Progressive Care Unit Part-Time, First Shift BHCOR-Cor ICU CCU/PCU Dept. I Corbin, KY PCU is a 20-bed unit capable of monitoring patients via central telemetry 24 hours a day. PCU serves as a place for the monitoring and care of patients age 16 to geriatric with moderate or potentially severe physiologic instability, requiring technical support but not necessarily artificial life support. Performs care requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
Provides direct patient care and clinical support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Monitors and documents vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other patient information accurately. Assists patients with daily living activities including hygiene, mobility, feeding, repositioning, and comfort needs while promoting dignity and safety. Supports admissions, transfers, discharges, and department-specific clinical procedures as directed. Observes and reports changes in patient condition or concerns to the nursing team promptly. Collects specimens and assists with routine patient care procedures. Delivers compassionate, patient-centered service to patients, families, and visitors. Maintains compliance with hospital safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required OR successful completion of the first year of a nursing program with validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education. High School Diploma or GED required. No experience required; patient care experience preferred. Candidates without Nurse Aide Certification must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. Additional job-specific training and certifications required within established timeframes.
