The Histotechnologist prepares frozen human tissue slides for diagnostic purposes by processing, embedding, and staining specimens. They are also responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance with CLIA and OSHA, and coordinating staff training.
Candidates must have a Histotechnician program completion with 7-10+ years of histology experience, including significant experience in a Mohs laboratory. Proficiency in grossing descriptions and Microsoft Office is essential, while an Associate degree and ASCP certification are preferred.
Successful completion of a Histotechnician program AND 10+ years histology experience including 7 years in a Mohs laboratory OR Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program AND 7 years of histology experience including 5 years in a Mohs laboratory 7+ years histology experience including 5 years in a Mohs laboratory Experience with grossing description essential Skilled with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Associate Degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a 24 semester hours of science courses that include: Six semester hours of chemistry Six semester hours of biology Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification Experience with electronic medical record / EpicCare Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
