Diagnose the presence and stage of diseases by examining tissue sections, body fluids, and secretions using various microscopy techniques. Provide detailed diagnostic reports to referring physicians and participate in quality assurance and proficiency testing programs.
Must be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy with an unrestricted license and board certification in anatomic or clinical pathology. Requires completion of an approved residency and a two-year surgical medical fellowship, plus at least one year of pathology experience.
Be a doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy; and Possess an unlimited and unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathy in the state in which the laboratory is located, and applicable states in which laboratory receives specimens or be eligible to obtain licensure; and For surgical pathology: Completion of an approved four year residency in anatomic and/or clinical pathology; and Completion of a two year surgical medical fellowship; and Be certified in anatomic or clinical pathology, or both, by the American Board of Pathology or American Osteopathic Board of Pathology or possess qualifications that are equivalent to those required for such certification. Other Qualifications: Minimum of one year pathology experience. Successful completion of a pre-employment visual color discrimination test. Complies with Board of Medicine on annual continuing medical education requirements. Gain/Maintains appropriate medical staff membership and privileges at applicable medical facilities. Salary minimum to max is $300K to $400K. Pay is commensurate with experience and subspecialty training; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
