GENERAL OVERVIEW: Conducts evaluations of hearing and recommends treatment to improve or conserve hearing ability. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify, test, diagnose and manage disorders of human hearing, balance, tinnitus; interpret results of behavioral and objective measures. (40%) Counsel patients about hearing health and the possible need for treatment/management. (10%) Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for hearing aids and provide fitting, programming, and audiologic rehabilitation to ensure the best possible outcomes. (20%) Perform assessment and nonmedical management of tinnitus. (20%) Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers on the psychosocial adjustments of hearing loss. (10%) Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Master's Degree OR Doctorate in Audiology Current PA Audiologist License Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred 1-3 years hearing evaluation and management experience including dispensing and management of hearing assistive devices 1-3 years experience in a healthcare setting Disclaimer: The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
