Provide basic husbandry and health surveillance for research animals while ensuring safe handling of models, tissues, and specimens. Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations to maintain privacy and safety in animal care.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and physical stamina for manual labor. Candidates must possess knowledge of animal care procedures and basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
EDUCATION: HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Requires physical stamina for manual labor. Knowledge of animal care and safe handling procedures. Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Possess written and verbal communications skills to communicate with fellow team members, supervisors, and other hospital personnel. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options. Ensure the privacy of each study and sponsor information/data.
