Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN program with a valid New York State LPN license. Preference is given to candidates with at least 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient oncology setting.
Novellis Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dedicated team in our outpatient medical oncology/hematology private practice. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care, supporting the medical team, and ensuring a positive experience for our patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Provide direct nursing care to patients with oncologic and hematologic diagnoses under physician supervision. Assess and monitor patients throughout their therapy, utilizing appropriate technical skills and clinical judgment. Prepare and administer injections, oral and IV medications, and document all medications per physician orders. Perform basic laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and EKGs. Maintain and monitor vascular access devices; administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and perform therapeutic phlebotomy as needed. Assess and manage patient symptoms and treatment side effects, collaborating with the care team to optimize patient outcomes. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and their families throughout the treatment process. Triage patient and family phone calls, documenting all relevant information in the electronic medical record. Assess patient and family needs, providing education and support as appropriate. Participate in ongoing collaboration and communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient treatment plans. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited LPN program. Current and valid New York State LPN license. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient oncology setting preferred. Proficient in IV insertion, medication administration, and basic laboratory skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
