The coordinator manages the daily operations and patient workflow for allergy testing and immunotherapy. Key duties include administering tests, mixing vials, and handling insurance authorizations and EMR documentation.
Candidates must be a graduate of a Medical Assistant program or be EMT certified with BLS certification. Previous clinical allergy experience is preferred.

This position is to serve as the support for patients referred, following evaluation, by Greenville ENT treating Physicians for Allergy Testing and ongoing immunotherapy. Functions independently being responsible for the daily operation, schedule and patient workflow, records documentation and maintenance, and allergy supplies of the office to which assigned. JOB SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: · Conducts initial patient interview following referral from Greenville ENT physician. · Administer skin tests. · Schedules and conducts allergy testing ordered by physicians; schedules ongoing immunotherapy, as required. · Patient education regarding patient treatment plan. · Mixes vials for current allergy patients and gives scheduled injections. · Orders all supplies for the Allergy Department · Keeps Allergy test sets current. · Charts with relevant medical data; documents in the EMR any pertinent patient information. · Schedule testing and injections for individual Allergy Department. · Verify insurance benefits prior to allergy testing and add benefits to EMR. · Obtain authorizations for Allergy Testing and Immunotherapy as required by patients’ insurance. · Keep the allergy Department neat and tidy. · Keep the crash cart up to date.
· Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or EMT Certified · BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross · Previous clinical allergy experience preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Work environment is fast paced but professional and friendly. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, and stretching for supplies. The lifting of items weighing up to 20 pounds may be required. It is necessary to view and type on computer screen for long periods and to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level. Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent telephone contact with patients and the public. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
