The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing phlebotomy, processing specimens, and conducting limited laboratory testing. They also handle patient registration, order entry, and maintain a safe, compliant laboratory environment.
A high school diploma is required, while an associate degree and phlebotomy certification are preferred. Candidates should have technical aptitude, strong interpersonal skills, and ideally one year of phlebotomy experience.
The primary responsibility of the Laboratory Assistant is the performance of phlebotomy, specimen processing, registration, and limited laboratory testing.
