The Emergency Veterinary Technician is responsible for triaging patients, providing immediate lifesaving care, and assisting doctors with diagnostics and treatments. They must also communicate medical updates and financial plans to pet owners while maintaining accurate medical records.
Candidates must have at least one year of veterinary technician experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. A Colorado Registered Veterinary Technician license (or the ability to obtain one) and fluency in English are required.

The Emergency Veterinary Technician’s primary responsibility is to triage patients as they present to the Emergency Room according to triage levels. Assess pets and provide immediate lifesaving care under the direction of the ER doctor as required for critical patients. Provides history, vitals, and concerns to doctors to assist in the timely and appropriate management of emergency patients. Works with float technicians and assistants to perform diagnostics, execute a treatment plan and/or hospitalize the patient. Communicate medical updates, financial, and treatment plans to owners.
