Perform specialized biochemical genetics tests and routine technical procedures while maintaining equipment and monitoring quality control standards. Report results accurately via LIS and ensure strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science field and at least one year of experience in an accredited clinical laboratory. Must be MT(ASCP) certified or eligible for certification.
$10,000 The Biochemical Genetics laboratory is seeking a highly motivated medical technologist with strong attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and a commitment to patient safety in a highly specialized laboratory environment. Experience in HPLC and mass spectrometry preferred. Medical Technologist at Children's National performs Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Virology, and/or Genetics procedures in accordance with established procedures and policies. Records and reports results; operates and maintains equipment; monitors quality control standards; evaluates new instruments and tests. Performs clerical and service duties as required.
Minimum Education Bachelor's in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science (Required)
Minimum Work Experience 1 year - Experience in an accredited clinical laboratory (Required)
Statistics preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills important Knowledge and skills related to LIS desirable.
