Provides technical support and assistance to physicians during cardiovascular diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures. Responsible for monitoring patients, documenting care, and maintaining lab equipment and supplies.
Requires a technical degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy and 1-3 years of Cath Lab experience. Must hold active BLS, ACLS, and Tennessee Registered Respiratory Therapist certifications.
Proficient and certified in basic and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) or pediatric advanced life support (PALS) if working with children is preferred, OR certification must be completed within 6 months of hire. Sound technical knowledge of cath lab or electrophysiology lab concepts, practices, and procedures. Meets required clinical competencies according to validation methods. Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow. Supervision Provided by this Position There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position. Physical Demands The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently. Will be required to wear lead apron for extended periods of time. The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
