Responsible for providing high-quality individualized patient care in an ambulatory surgery and endoscopy setting. Duties include administering medications, monitoring physiologic status during procedures, and managing the sterilization and decontamination of endoscopy equipment.
Requires a graduate of an accredited RN program with a current California Registered Nurse license. Must hold BCLS, ACLS, and EKG certifications, with preferred experience in endoscopy or operating room settings.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager or Supervisor, this position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.
Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area.
Participates in quality and performance improvement programs.
Orients and trains assigned personnel and students.
Provides direction to other members of the patient care team to coordinate all aspects of a nursing unit/department for assigned shift. Assesses effectiveness of direction given and problem solves issues regarding patient care.
Knowledgeably administers IV’s and medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patient’s response. Verifies patients identify/ID band before treatments and procedures.
Writes initial nursing history, assesses patient’s conditions and develops and updates individual plans of care for patients assigned to the unit/department.
Demonstrates knowledge of moderate sedation agents, technique, and actions.
Monitors physiologic, cognitive status of patients and timely reports changes to physicians during procedures and/or other appropriate personnel.
Properly demonstrates ability to recognize cardiac rhythms and to treat arrhythmias appropriately.
Assists with admitting patients to endoscopy unit.
Assembles necessary instruments, supplies and equipment prior to start each case.
Assists in discharging patients form unit, when assigned.
Assists in checking for availability and proper condition of necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to start of every endoscopy procedures.
