Position Summary

• Under general supervision, Nurses at the Surgical Associates deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy.
• Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Nurses effectively interact with patients, significant others, and family, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing.
• The nature of the direction and supervision required for this position varies by State and job setting.
• Due to the broad range of medical conditions nurses will encounter, they must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions.

• Essential Functions
• Knows/conforms to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and the Board's rules and regulations as well as all Federal, State or local laws, rules or regulations.
• Provide, without discrimination, nursing services regardless of age, disability, economic status, gender, national origin, and race, religion, or health problems of the patient’s service.
• Responsible for the total nursing care, assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient.
• Plans, provides, evaluates, and documents nursing care, discharge planning and teaching.
• Assures the plan is carried out and provided in a safe environment, through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel.
• Educates patients, family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care.
• Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintain composure during stressful situations.
• Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

• Work Experience
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.

• Education
• Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date.
